The summer attraction on the mountain

For years I have been thinking about how I can make my homeland, Upper Lusatia and especially Neukirch, more attractive to tourists. Neukirch is just outside the gates Dresden and has it correspondingly difficult to score with attractions in comparison. Our Mayor Jens Zeiler (CDU) brought the idea from the vacation on Fichtelberg. I was immediately sure that the monsters would attract enough attention and give tourism in Upper Lusatia a boost: The experience and know-how of Torsten pumpkin (manufacturer) give me the confidence to start the project promptly - even without a mountain railway or ski lift we wanted to buy the monsters! Torsten, as the manufacturer of the scooters, is a tourism expert and, with the "KMR license", supplies everything from a single source, from scooters to apps for mobile phones! The Fichtelberg team supported me right from the start and helped where things got complicated. We rely on gentle tourism and environmental friendliness and use existing hiking and biking trails.

Finally ride a monster scooter! do it I do too! What monstrous fun to heat down the mountain with these bright green parts. I'm involved in this project because it's different, unusual. I like Torsten's idea of bringing the monsters to areas that not everyone has on their list!

Since 2011 we have been a partner of the monster project on the Fichtelberg in the Ore Mountains. From May to October, our narrow-gauge railway, the Fichtelbergbahn, transports guests and scooters back to the starting point in the spa town of Oberwiesenthal. During the 40-minute return trip, you can sit back and relax at a comfortable 25 km/h and enjoy traveling on the historic steam train like in grandmother's times. In the eight-year joint cooperation, more than 33,000 guests have been transported with their scooters. In 2017, the original number of 2,800 guests rose to almost 5,000 guests. This development shows that our partnership has created a win-win situation for both sides and that we would like to continue this successful cooperation.
