  • Thomas Luft, Managing Director Monsterroller Oberlausitz UG

For years I have been thinking about how to make my home, „Oberlausitz“ and especially Neukirch more attractive to tourists. Neukirch is located just outside the gates of Dresden and has in comparison correspondingly difficult attractions.

Our mayor Jens Zeiler (CDU) brought the idea of "Monsterroller" from his holiday on Mount Fichtelberg. I was immediately sure the “Monsterrollers” will provide sufficient attention and give tourism in “Oberlausitz” a boost! The experience and the know-how of Torsten Kürbis give him the certainty to bring the project to start in a timely manner - even without a cable car or ski lift! Torsten is famous as tourist operator and through his "KMR license" he deliver everything from a monster-scooter to the app for mobile! The team from Mount Fichtelberg supported me from the beginning and helped where it got complicated. We rely on non-impact tourism and environmental friendliness and already use existing hiking and biking trails.

  • Roland Richter, Manager SDG Sächsischen Dampfeisenbahngesellschaft mbH

Since 2011 we are partner of the Monsterroller project on the Fichtelberg in the Erzgebirge. From May to October, our narrow-gauge railway, the Fichtelbergbahn, transports guests and monster scooters back to their starting point in the spa town of Oberwiesenthal. During the 40-minute drive back, you can sit back and relax at a leisurely 25 km / h and enjoy traveling in the historic steam train, just like in grandmother's time.

During the eight-year joint cooperation, more than 33,000 guests have been hosted with their monster scooters. In 2017, the original number of 2,800 guests rose to nearly 5,000 guests. This development shows that our partnership has created a win-win situation for both sides and we want to continue building on this successful cooperation.

  • Stefan Kretzschmar, former professionel handball player, member team Germany, Champions League winner, silver medalist Olympic Games

Drive monster scooters! Do it. I do it as well! What monstrous fun it is with these poison green cool things acceleration down a descent. I support this project because it's different, unusual. I like Torsten's idea to bring the monsters to areas that are not on everyone's destination list!
